The Roland Octapad is an amazing drum sound electronic kit that can act as a supplement to your drum kit or entirely replace it. The Octapad has eight electronic drum triggers that are velocity sensitive, so you can hit them with varying amounts of force and produce a more realistic drum sound. All eight pads have the option to customize both MIDI output parameters and the type of sound played. All sounds can be managed through the Octapad's onboard menu system.

Octapad not as described
Upon arrival, Several screws were missing out of the bottom the unit that clearly shows signs of tampering. upon further inspection, I realize that two of the pads on the far left side were not functioning as intended. They both triggered regardless of which pad was pressed and this definitely impairs the function of the unit. Professional inspection of the unit showed that there was clear signs of moisture damage on both the circuitboard inside and the switches that control the pads. In addition to the pads malfunctioning, the menu dial does not function as well, making it impossible to factory reset or calibrate the unit. The product was displayed as 100% working with no signs of damage. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed with the condition of the product.

Nice unit
I'm still learning it but it doesn't really seem to hard to use the manual is good- the sounds are excellent- it be nice if it had more effects like waterfalls gunshots birds oceans cars things like that.

SPD 30. Great addition.
I like the feel of the thicker pads compared to my old SPD 20. Programming is simple and the layering is nice as well. Using it as a stand alone set for small gigs.

Some What Ok
Drum Sounds Not So Good I bought To Use With Additive Drums 2 And Superior Drums 2 After I Learned How To Map The Thing Got A Great sound Through Computer Drums Roland Needs Better Sounding Drum Sounds And Maybe Software To use With The Computer !
