A lot better sound
I purchased these as a replacement for cheap ones that were fitted to my strat copy, easy to fit if you can solder the wire ,the pups are label neck/middle,bridge, the white wires solder to the switch, the black earth wires join together and solder to the same earth point as the old ones. The sound is amazing, plenty sustain, and a nice mellow sound, a big improvement. So if you dont want to spend a fortune, i recommend these pups.

Wilkinson Over Wound Strat Replacement Pickups
I replaced the stock pickups on a Starcaster/Strat with a set of Dragonfire Vintage Single Coils. They were a slight improvement. The stock pickups were thin sounding with that annoying high-end spike on the bridge pickup. The Dragonfire pickups were only a slight improvement. But, only $25 for the set of three. Not all that much difference in sound. I replaced the Dragonfire pickups with these Wilkinson pickups. Almost twice the price - about $45 when changed from Pounds to Dollars. These pickups sound louder and more full. That annoying high-end spike is gone. A quality single coil will start to sound more like a humbucker while retaining that "Fender Strat" sound you are looking for. These pickups do that. They don't sound nasal, which a lot of strats do. They are closer to a "plain vanilla" sound. That's what I wanted. It allows me to use my Starcaster for more songs than that super thin stratty sound. Less switching back and forth to a humbucker-based guitar. After some setup and fret-work on my $65 Starcaster, with your eyes closed, it now feels and sounds more like that $1,200 Deluxe Stratocaster. I also replaced the stock 5-way switch and pots. Big difference in tone. These Wilkinsons are a better choice than many replacements pickups in the $25-$35 range. I am comparing these to a set of Seymour Duncan SSL-5 Custom Staggered Pole Strat Pickups. $180 for the set. These Wilkinsons are not as high-output as those. The SD SSL-5 is more full-sounding but, I might prefer these. Time will tell.

Great For The Price
Bought these as a replacements for the ones in my squire strat as i did not want to spend a small fortune on other brands. These did not disapoint they sound great on the clean channel nice a bright and sound fantastic with distortion with very litle or no hum would recommend these pick ups

Unexpected surprise.
As a player of over 30 years, I bought these on a whim to breathe new life into an old affinity strat. Genuinely blown away by these, the difference is incredible. Warm, beautifully voiced and punchy without being harsh, what's not to like? . Excellent stuff, at any price.

A great upgrade at a bargain price
I upgrade a copy strat with Wilkinson `hot` pickups, all 5 positions of the pickup switch produced a sharper clearer tone and response, these pickups are highly recommended - a real bargain.

Great results from pickups for a reasonable price
Great pickups for a guitar rebuild / project which I recently completed - very pleased with them and would recommend them.
