A true classic of popular science.
This is my fourth copy of Cosmos. Of the other three copies I've owned over the years, two were borrowed (never to be returned) and my original copy (that I got on my 15th birthday from my mom) was a gift to my son (on his 15th birthday). This paperback edition I just purchased will stay with me forever, provided it don't get "borrowed". I recommend this book to every literate person on earth. Even IF you never read anything else by Dr. Sagan (I've read quite a bit and its all very interesting) and even if you don't agree with everything in the book (I don't) I believe the reader will have a much better understanding of the universe and our place in it. Great and Compelling Read for Those From 12 to 75!
I saw the T.V. series, "Cosmos," when it originally aired and was awed and inspired by it. Years later, I bought the book based on the T.V. series and once again found it compelling. Because of his interest in this area, I recently ordered the book and sent it to my 12-year-old grandson. He is thrilled with it! Love Cosmos and Carl Sagan!
Takes me back to my youth in the 80s. I watched the series on a 13 inch black and white TV. Great seeing it in color. I had just got out of the US Navy and starting college. Had my TV hooked up to my 300 watt per channel AWAI stero and the music of the show was fantastic.Cosmos came out on PBS in 1980 and I enjoyed learning from the show. Now I can watch Cosmos on a 50 inch TV and have it hooked up to my Panisonic 200 watt per channel stero. I really like the companion book Cosmos as well.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht
