Great value & good range of sizes
Good value metric tap & die set for emergency use for standard & fine threads in auto or home use. I don't think you could use any of the taps & dies frequently to cut new threads as its not made of the best tool steel. However, the cost of the equivalent set in best quality tool steel would be frightening. Sealey AK3040 Tap and Die Set.
I had gradually sold all my imperial taps and dies as l really needed metric ones. They were all good quality and had served me well. I was sorry to see them go. What l needed now was a few metric taps and dies around the 6 to 10mm range. Should l buy them individually or as a set was the main question. I also needed reasonable quality but didn't want to spend a £100 or so. I eventually decided on a set rather than individual ones as they were better value for money. This particular Sealey set seemed very good value so l bought it. I have found these Sealey taps and dies to be good quality and value for money. They worked very well in use. However this set is limited in so far as all of the taps are TAPER taps and l found immediately that l also needed PLUG taps as well. Verdict: A recommended product. However l would advise to spend more on a larger kit that included PLUG and BOTTOMING taps as well. Otherwise you'll be buying them as extras.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Poor packaging
Tools are excellent, as one would expect. Good clean cuts Wide variety of sizes. However, cheap packaging! I lost four pieces as a result of trying to remove the cheap plastic covering holding the pieces in the equally cheap nasty tray.
