Organized Reference
Instead of spending hours looking up a plant, whether online or asking a specialist, get this book! If you even know one of the criteria (flower type, plant type, leaf type), Newcomb will guide you in identifying the plant. Newcomb begins with explaining and educating you about the basic criteria, and asking the basic questions that will enable you to identify the plant. The cross reference is easy to navigate. Some illustrations are in color, while others are drawings. In either case, they are good enough to compare to what your eyes are viewing. Excellent Wildflower Book
There are so many drawings and descriptions of flowers, plants, leaves, vines, shrubs, etc. I'll be busy for the next 5 years. good reference guide
