Judi Dench is wonderful.
A major fan of Judi Dench. Probably the most versatile British actor I know. In one movie, You hate her, the next you love her. In this one, a fairly simple woman named Philomena is caught in an intrigue of the Catholic Church selling children to raise money. This actor that played a magnificent Elizabeth I and the most complex monarch ever to rule England, plays a naïve woman who searches for the child she had while held captive in a convent. Her search leads her to the US and then back to Ireland. Extraordinary performance and one that I will watch over and over again. Highly recommended.

A HEART RENDING MOVIE
Judi Dench is one of our all time favorite actresses. He performance in PHILOMENA is impeccable. This film challenges its viewers to emotionally, mentally and philosophically enter into the plot with Judi, empathize with her heart-rending quest to find her son and, with her, come to grips with the surprising outcome of her search. Serious, yet funny too!
It's a true story! A sad time when people with good intentions took children and put them up for adoption. The mother, Philomela, searched for her son. A 50-year search.

Beautifully made
This movie is human. Comes to life and brings you into it. All emotions are thru out this. Everyone needs to see it
