One of the best entry level automatic watches on the market- but small by modern standards
With street pricing of $65, and the occasional eBay coupon code, it's hard to argue against this being a great buy. The good points include a modern take on a military style dial, solid construction, and a generally reliable and acceptably accurate 7s26 movement. The movement isn't decorated, but it's still cool for the novice to be able to see it work. The watch is very lightweight, and the spinning of the rotor can be felt. My first reaction is that it's a cool reminder that you're wearing a tiny machine on your wrist, but I don't know if it would eventually become annoying. The size is an advantage for some, and a negative attribute for others. At 37mm it's small by most modern watch standards, but most issued military watches were even smaller at 36mm. If your wrist is 7" or smaller it's going to look fine. Also nuetral is the 30m water resistance. This is fine for everyday use, but 30m doesn't mean it's intended to be worn while swimming. It is a field watch, after all. The only significant negative (at this price point) is the strap. The tan dial and tan strap is too... tan. I put it on a Maratac ACU gray strap, and it looks good. Beyond aesthetics, though, the canvas strap is stiff and scratchy. Ditch it, and factor an 18mm replacement into the the equation.

Alot of bang for your buck!
In my opinion this has to be the best value available for a new automatic/mechanical watch. It is good quality and keeps time just as well as alot of higher end watches. Another plus is the size. It's getting difficult to find new automatic watches that aren't clownishly large and gaudy. This one is a great, "classic" sized watch that will wear well on a variety of wrist sizes. It has a nice quality weight and feel without being too heavy. I do recommend investing in a good quality leather band (strap) as it wears more comfortably and in my opinion it improves the aesthetics of the watch. To sum it all up, this is a "working persons" watch for people who want a classic, time tested timepiece that is affordable and durable. Thanks Seiko!

excellent value
purchased on a whim, this watch really impressed me. it keeps excellent reliable time. the dial is very unique and i love the seconds hand lollipop style design. i would have zero issues using this as a daily driver. the only major complaint i have is the low level of water resistant. hand washing or a good dunking wouldn’t hurt it...but i keep hearing that you shouldn’t swim with it. otherwise, it’s a fantastic automatic watch for the money. it constantly finds its way onto my wrist despite being the most inexpensive watch that i own.

Seiko 5 Field Watch
Excellent value! Movement is about right on and seems to keep good pace with my iPhone time. Seems pretty tough and has the nice see through kydex glass in the rear of watch as well as Watch face. It may seem small for some men but for me, it is a solid timepiece and very comfortable to wear. Though the band may seem a bit cheap, it wears well and is very flexible and not rigid. Great buy for he money, I would love to see if more colors than just basic. I would buy a few to wear with different things!

Good Mechanical Watch.
The watch looks good and functions well. The accuracy is good but not excellent, i.e. minus 6 seconds per day. Only negative is the lack of luminescence. Regarding accuracy, this may improve after break-in. (Only two weeks to date.).

Great looking, excellent value!!
This is a great watch and really good looking in person. I wasn't sure if I would like the canvas band, but again in person, it's really quite nice and I've received a number of compliments on it. Also, if I wear the watch for an entire day and take it off at night, I've noticed that it's still running when I go to put it on 2 days later. For under $100 I haven't come across a better value that this watch. Excellent!!

Great value, but smaller than you may think
I bought this watch cause I am on a budget. After spending way, way too much time researching watches I decided that that this watch would fit all my requirements and I could easily replace the band. I wore it with the original band for a few days before putting a black leather band on it. Pros: Inexpensive Seiko quality Automatic Mechanical movement Light weight Cons: Original ban was unconformable smaller than you think

Excellently priced watch!
This watch is fantastic! Love the look, love the feel! The moment I picked up the watch and began moving the crown I could tell that it was quality made! If your looking for a solid automatic winding mechanical watch, this is the one!

Seiko watch
I've only have the use of one arm & hand, so there's not much movement in arm. Being the one that I wear it on, and since it takes movement for the battery to keep working it stops all the time, so I don't even wear it.

Seiko 5 for $50 ! Amazing deal.
Great automatic watch for the price. Especially from such a reputable maker. Not their best movement mind you. Accuracy left something to be desired. Wear this with a loose cotton top and khakis or jeans and you are in cool style!
