Very Effective Low Weight Chainsaw
If you're up a tree or a ladder and need light weight equipment this very effective. It's also a good all round chainsaw, as good as my petrol version, albeit limited by the 12 inch cutter. Ease of use with a battery is another great benefit. Chainsaw is easy to use and fairly well balanced, however it will barely do 8 cuts of 6" unseasoned wood before my newish, 5ah batteries die. Barely did 5 cuts through 6" seasoned wood! Awsome machine

An excellent product at a fair price
Having purchased a number of Ryobi products over the years this didn't disappoint. I've now logged a good number of barrow loads of ash from thick and heavy branches. I would recommend you buy the 18 volt 5.0 Ah battery to go with it (and a genuine one, not a cheap copy) although the 4 .0 Ah battery copes OK. My only criticism: The manual wasn't very helpful on putting it all together and unlike a conventional chainsaw the methodology of fitting the chain to the bar took some working out. Chainsaw with freedom.
Nice bit of kit, no electric cables to cut through. If you're already into 18+ one system it makes sense. Easy to use as relatively light, manages most branches on trees with ease, for taking a whole tree down probably best to get a petrol saw more suited to job. Cracking piece of kit!
Fantastic piece of kit and compliments my mower, strimmer, hedge cutter in the garden. Cuts through branches. Same batteries that power my other DIY tools: drill x3, angle drill, impact screwdriver, angle grinder, circular saw, reciprocating saw, scroll saw, jigsaw, fan x2, caulking (mastic) gun, fans x 2, fluorescent lights x 3, fm radio, mouse sander, torch, Can not fault Ryobi products - with the exception of the vac. Effective tool

Decent Tool but you need protective gear
Adequately powerful for cutting logs 6 inches in diameter (the largest I have for testing). Assembly instructions are a bit sketchy unless you have used a chainsaw before. Safety instructions section is huge. You really need protective trousers, helmet and facemask to be safe with any unguarded chainsaw.
