Very clean transceiver and it's just what I wanted
It's a good all around multi-mode, multi-band transceiver and although it's not SDR and doesn't have a QSD front end with a lower noise floor and improved dynamic range, it is just what I wanted. It functions beautifully and will fit nicely into my portable GO-PACK giving me a second and /or a backup QRP system with a range 160 meters through 70 CM with all mode capabilities. The great FT-817ND still going strong!
Yaesu sets a high standard in amateur radio equipment. This is a exceptional quality radio with all of the features desirable by ham operators. I was happy to find a new one for sale since being replaced by the less desirable FT-818.
