Absolutely instructive and useful
The goal of the author is to educate and make people confident to learn and apply without being intimated by modern day academic and licensing system. With this vision in mind, the author endeavored to make the book easy to read, understand, and follow by simple language and clear illustrations. You can feel the author's passion and compassion in very page. Very encouraging to know there was someone who sincerely cared for humanity and labored to leave a legacy for the generation to come. You will not regret to have this book in your personal library.

A MUST HAVE for bush trips!
I do missionary work in a very remote area of Zambia. This book covers everything you need to know. Build a comprehensive first aid kit around it and you will have the peace of mind knowing you can handle a wide range of medical issues that would have some missionaries in deep deep trouble without it. It can also help you aid others in your travels. People in Zambia die from simple things like diarrhea, malaria, cholera, infections and dehydration, all the time. This book and some inexpensive over-the-counter medicines can save lives, including your own. I've taken 8 credits worth of advanced first aid at colleges. I've had military training and read many books on the subject. This is the best one I have seen so far.

Good reference to have on hand
This seems to be a good reference book to have on hand if medical care is needed and no doctor is available. It goes beyond the basics of first aid, and gives recommendations for meds like antibiotics. I would recommend it for anyone in a remote third-world village, or preppers.

Where there is no Doctor says it all.
This was our manual for health care in the Peace Corps. While most of the information first applies to life in a rural setting, it also applies to similar situations in urban or other settings. It helps one with initial first aid decisions.
