Great Chain
Believe it or not, I used this on my Italian brand freewheel. Compared to another Italian lightweight chain from the same era, this chain worked very well on my Friction style six-speed cluster. I fact, it worked superior to a Regina and French made Sedis. I would recommend this chain for those classic Italian bikes from the 1980's. And it's much cheaper in price compared to the European brands.

IMO Shimano does make a functional and quality chain.
The Shimano chain seems far smoother than the Bell chain from the big box store. I did not have a tool to attach the master link so I used a chain tool to join the chain together with the pins. This chain rides smooth and I barley notice it at all. The chain tool worked as far as I can tell. ATM I have about 40 miles on it. Although I prefer IGH (Internal Geared Hubs) prior to the 8 speed nexus and it's smaller sprocket design for speed. Since the IGH bikes are few and far between, and the gear cluster is so widely used. I do have to replace the bike parts that wear out, and service the parts which, need regular service, and Shimano does support that as well. (side note)Thumb shifters are also a shimano nexus relic, for the most part. which is unfortunate IMO.

Top of the line bike chain. I have a 21 speed Shimano group set and this chain was the last Shimano item to compliment the Shimano system.

Best Value Chain Out There
This is a great replacement chain for the Price it can't be beat! Excellent Quality. Comes Pre-Lubricated... with Good Instructions! The "Quick Link" supplied with the chain makes it Easy to install with No Tools. Smooth Running and Quiet Chain!

Good quality chain!
This chain is a good quality chain that works well. It is very quiet and seems made of high quality materials. The chain came with a quicklink, which made it a lot easier to put together. I will update my review if this chain fails prematurely.

Great chain! Smooth and quiet shifting.
This chain makes my project bike better for the long and short trips. It works great with my newly replaced crank and gear cluster.

Trek 820 now shifts like new.
I replaced the chain on my 1998 Trek 820, 2 weeks ago and the bike shifts well and now able to climb hills without jumping out of gear. Still using the original cassette of the same brand. So fair very pkeased.

Shimano chain
Prompt arrival. Chain is a chain. Hard to say how it will hold up, but as far as I can tell, good quality. Make sure you have a chain break. Pretty hard to do with a punch like you could 30 years ago.

Good product. Tough quick link.
Not my favorite. The quick link was a little more resistant than some others but it worked great with good pick up and working nicely with my wide range 21 speed.
