Can't beat it for history and detail
All of Jerry Kunhausen's books are valuable references. I've used this one to troubleshoot major and minor problems. He has many examples of "customer induced" and some gunsmith induced problems and how to fix them. He shows where wear occurs and how to reduce it by cleaning and lubricating specific spots.
