Darksiders Goes Diablo-esqe With Solid Results
Featuring an isometric viewpoint that recalls classic games like Diablo, Torchlight II and Titan Quest, Darksiders Genesis makes for an excellent surprise and quite a fun game on the PS4 or PS5. It works quite well as a single player experience, but online or offline co-op is here if you want to play with another person as it adds a few tweaks to the solid, thrilling combat. The game also packs in some humorous banter between the two leads and a load of collectibles, upgrades and secrets that make it quite replayable. Expect a few puzzles here from navigational trickery to exploration and combat zones that have the characters quickly dispatching demons. While the isometric view and some jumping elements might not appeals to some longtime fans of the franchise, the gameplay is pure Darksiders throughout and it would be nice to see a sequel using the same art style in the future.
