Nice scope Nikon Prostaff EFR 3-9 x 40 AO
Nice scope. My first Nikon. Very clear and seems well made. I have it on a new custom built Ruger 10/22 with Kidd barrel and Magpul Hunter stock.It is brighter than my less expensive scopes. Holding zero well so far. Good eye relief. I have a few hundred rounds on this scope. Shooting 1 hole 5 shot groups indoors at 20 yds same size as the bullet when I am on. I have to take it out to 50yds next week. At the price I would buy another. Only small complaint is the turret clicks are a bit mushy. I am used to a mil dot reticle but I like this reticle as well. Can't beat the AO scopes in my opinion to eliminate parallax.

The best rimfire scope made!
After reading many reviews on different rimfire forums about how great this scope is I decided to try one for my new Ruger American Target in 17 HMR. This scope is flat amazing! Not just for the price you pay, but for any amount! The adjustable objective lets you focus the scope crystal clear on objects as close as 10ft NOT 10 yds like Nikon states. It is unreal how clear it is at close distances. Now for the reticle, this is what originally sold me on this scope as the Vortex, Leupold and other Nikon rimfire scopes with a BDC style reticle have such thick crosshairs that for shooting paper or small animals obscures MUCH of the target. The reticle on this model is perfection! It is easily seen in low light and the center dot draws your eye but doesn't obscure the target whatsoever. I can honestly say this is the finest rimfire scope I have ever owned by far, and I own some nice glass that I've spent a lot more money on. My only complaint and it is very minor is the eye relief is not as generous as other scopes. Just take your time when mounting it get prone with the rifle and scope on 9x and set your eye relief. I found that medium height rings worked the best overall on my rifle with this scope.

Excellent Rimfire Target Scope !!!
Very pleaded with this Nikon ! I will not go into specifics about the scope, the product reviews and descriptions do that well. I've placed this on a Ruger 10/22 bullnose target rifle, with Boyd laminated stock, and target trigger. A superb combination. The glass is outstanding, the reticle razor sharp. Highly recommended!!!

Fantastic quality/value scope with bright/clear glass and great features.
Nikon is very well known and highly desired for their excellent glass (with camera lenses especially) and this scope is no exception. For the money, I haven't seen a better value when it comes to a 10 yard parallax (to infinity) rimfire scope. Although a side parallax adjustment knob would have been a nice feature, eliminating it has kept the cost down making this model more affordable. This scope has all the other bells and whistles one could desire, a quick focus eyepiece, crystal clear bright coated glass, spring-loaded instant zero-reset finger adjustable turrets, and a precision target reticle. With Nikon's lifetime repair/replace warranty there's little to worry about with long term use. If you're after a great 3x9 power 40mm AO scope for your rimfire or airgun, this high quality scope will be hard if not impossible to beat at this price point.

Great Scope But Needs More Power
Great scope for a .22 or other rimfire that needs an extended focusing range for target work. Only problem is that more power is needed at times. What Nikon should market is a 4x-16x for more serious target shooting. Otherwise, I'd give it 5 stars.

Pellet rifle scope
Nikon Prostaff P3 EFR Riflescope is a great scop for a pellet rifle . It mounts easily, sights in quick ly and improves my shooting greatly.

Wonderful, reliable, clear scope.
Very versatile quality scope. Nice glass and precise adjustments. I have two of these 3-9x40mm with the very useful adjustable objective and fine, target reticle. I like and respect Vortex Crossfire for many reasons but I favor the Nikon.
