Have to love SSD drives
After struggling with a laptop with an original 500GB HDD. I finally decided to upgrade to an SSD. And I'm really glad I did. The laptop was taking 5-7 minutes to boot, and day to day operations seemed sluggish. Post SSD install (and full OS re-install), my boot time is now approx 7-8 seconds, and overall performance of the laptop is awesome. New life for older PC's
This Western Digital SSD was purchased to replace an older mechanical drive on a laptop. The WD Blue 500GB drive was basically a "drop-in" replacement, and true to the many articles I have read about the speed benefits of a SSD over the mechanical type, this drive made the laptop perform better than ever! We have been installing these on industrial machines as well, since they are nearly immune to vibration, but these older machines are running Microsoft Windows XP, requiring some adjustments to avoid excessive activity that can reduce the life of an SSD. The same is true of Windows 7, but only if the drive has been set-up with an image duplicated from an old mechanical drive, since the direct copy will contain the system as it was set-up for the mechanical drive. The information about the settings to adjust are widely available on the internet, as well as the drive manufacturer's' website. New installations of Windows 7 will recognize the SSD and set itself up automatically, as will Win 8 and Win 10. Great fast SSD from a brand I trust
This drive has surprisingly sped up my already blazing fast laptop. I have put off buying an SSD, because the price is so high compared to standard HDDs. If these things were cheaper, I would have them in everything. The difference is literally night, and day. Love it, fast, good results and first of all no errors
I had issue before with my toshiba ssd every thing is normal but the disturbing thing is when you shut down the computer for a while and turn it back on the first thing come up is Bios Screen. So you have exit bios screen to order to load the Microsoft Windows, and that's why without any hassle I bought WD Ssd to give it a shot, in the end bios screen gone and windows load shortly and perfectly.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Fast replacement for conventional hard drives
