Really nice but a little short on a home run
Just like the Alexa dot or echo, setup was very very easy. As long as you have a decent smartphone it will stay connected. Set up the garmin app 'speak' and let it run in the background, and everytime I start my car everything reconnects within a few seconds. If I was playing music through it will continue where it left off. Basically you have Alexa in the car. Alexa won't make calls, although the manual says it's capable. The mic works well even when it's somewhat noisy in the car. Love how small it is. The video it produces is very clear, though I haven't reviewed any segments from nighttime or rainy driving. Two sort of big problems. This negative brought down my rating. You CAN'T speak an address for navigation. You pre program addresses and only three. Like home, work, and other. I can ask alexa to ask garmin to find an intersection or a business or a city center for long distance. But you can't ask it for 123 Main St, you have to go to the app and I'm not about to fiddle with that when I am driving. For me that is a failing that needs to be fixed. Probably on purpose by Garmin since the really would like you to buy one of their $400 units with a screen. At least I have google maps and navigation where I can just ask to go to an address. If you are an Uber driver or a delivery person this is not for you for navigation. The 'Verb' program used to view live streaming from the camera, it has worked for me just twice. Otherwise it just won't find the speak. Shame it is a clunky app, but I really don't need it. If I need to review something, I can pop out the sd card.

Nice package.
It's good that I was able to hook up my radio to it so music would play through my speakers. My truck does not have Bluetooth. Also the garmin part warns me of lane departure. I haven't had any luck showing the traffic cam on my mobile phone. I assume I could remove the memory card and look at on my computer. The instructions could be more clear, especially for non computer neophytes.

Good but.....
Like it but it doesn't always connect to your blue tooth so you have pull over get on your phones settings connect manually then it's fine. I guess m ok enjoy sure it's connected before you drive. My wife's connects automatically always.... Why mine doesn't don't know

Oh what pleasure to use
Greatest device I gave for my wife's birthday. She loves it and makes life so much more comfortable and the camera is fabulous.

Road Companion
This is my third Alexa Garmin and I have one in each car. They are excellent items to carry onboard a car, and I use it as both a video recorder of my driving, but also as my normal Alexa when I am on the road

Awesome
Lifesaver. Was involved in an accident two weeks after purchasing this dash cam. Other driver lied about being at fault. Garmin saved the day with the automatically recorded video. Alexa works great on it. It should cost more

In beta state
Hopefully software enhancements will make this product a better value. Right now it is a mediocre product.

I love the Alexa, and I literally just recorded myself crashing into a wall earlier because of ice on the road. A+ product
