Good value product could do with a manual overide
The fan is basically a normal extractor fan that is operated by remote control. The clever bit is the heat exchanger inside the vent pipe to the outside. The fan is then rotated one way to expel the air over the heat exchanger then every 1 min the fan is reversed and the air brought in from outside taking the heat from the exchanger back into the room. The fan has two speeds and can only be operated from the included remote so if you drop it in the bath or the toilet your up the creek without a remote and the fan wont work. Its a really good idea for a bathroom where you need ventilation for the room but want to keep the heat in.

Ideal for Insulated Cabin
We have a 5 x 4 m single room cabin in the garden that is used as a bedroom. Living in the North of Scotland it needed to be well insulated and draft proof. Downside is that while the room is easy to heat, it got very stuffy. With this unit the problem is solved. Very little wasted heat but no more damp or stale air. So far very little need to used the powered fan. Passive air movement may be insufficient in hot weather, but the 2 stage fan should be more than adequate. For anyone who is concerned about wall thickness. Our walls were 50mm thinner than the minimum specification. However the plastic tubes can be trimmed to fit. As you may have concluded im very happy with the system. My only concern would be... Dont loose the remote! There is no manual switch on the unit.

Awenta recuperator air venting system.
I am very impressed with this unit. Its tidy and well made and so easy to install. The HRV100P , as we have , comes with a remote, I think essential. Its really quiet when running so very suitable for the bedroom , keeping the air really fresh, and I don't feel like I'm losing all my expensive heat.
