    Good Floppy Drive Once Defective Cable Replaced b

    This 40 year old floppy drive works. For under $60 including shipping a good deal. However, as received it was dysfunctional. Its connecting ribbon cable was unusable; the connector to the computer was cut off. Fortunately, I had a spare from the drive it replaced. Once the spare was installed, the drive worked.

    Works great. Quiet, no harsh disk spinning noise, correct drive speed, fully functioning.

    Does not write

    Drive reads fine but will not write on any floppy, new or old where my other two drives work great.
