Nice flatware chest, but...
The chest is a nice rich mahogany color, the sides and top seem to be sturdy, but the bottom seems a bit thin and flimsy. The chest that I received had two loose knobs. One of them was easy to access and the screw could simply be tightened, however the second screw was under the lining which had to be removed in order to tighten it.

Silver Storage Chest
This is a pretty shabby box. The bottom had pieces that had been ripped out and the bottom drawer didn't open and shut easily. However, it was inexpensive and served its purpose for me: I was able to store silver in it. I think the price was about twice what it should have been considering the poor quality. Because it was a heavy item, shipping brought the cost up. Next time I'll look first at a local consignment store.

Great workmanship
This chest is beautiful. Very heavy and sturdy and great workmanship, with the drawer, there was room for all the stainless flatware. This will be a gift.

Silverware box...
This Reed and Barton silverware box is well-built, considering that it is a new product( my experience is that "old" means better-quality wood)... My friend needed one right away to organize a set of old silverware, and did not wish to wait for me to go and find such a chest at a swap-meet, garage-sale, etc., Anyhow, this silverware chest meets all the criteria he had ... Thanks!

Silverware chest
beautiful looks just like you see here matches my hutch perfectly love love love . It was a bit pricey , wish I didn't have to pay so much on exchange and shipping. I ordered this item because it is an item that I had trouble finding
