NotesRepressing. UK collection from the British Rock/R&B outfit, originally released to coincide with their 40th Anniversary. This compilation presents the key songs from the peak period of the Group and includes the hits 'Every Little Bit Hurts', 'Keep on Running', 'Gimme Some Lovin', 'I'm a Man', 'Time Seller' and more. All recordings were made between 1965-1974, and feature Steve Winwood, Muff Winwood, Spencer Davis, Pete York, Eddie Hardin and Ray Fenwick. The Group's take on US R&B plus their own original songs in the R&B idiom, and the strength of their live performances, were a major influence on many music fans in the '60s. Legendary producer Joe Boyd (Pink Floyd, Fairport Convention) was recently quoted as saying that when he came to the UK from America, the first live show he attended was an SDG concert and it created such an impact he sought to find a way into the music business from that point. 20 tracks. Cherry Red.
