Notes2020 release, the thirteenth album from the five-time Grammy Award-winning rock trio. The album's full title is Father of All Motherfuckers. Formed in 1986 in Berkeley, CA, Green Day is one of the world's best-selling bands of all time, with more than 70 million records sold worldwide and 10 billion cumulative audio/visual streams.
This is one of my favorite Green Day albums. Is it a departure from previous offerings? Yes. Does it sound like their early work? No. Does it sound like their later work? No. Does it sound like Green Day? Well it is Green Day, so (by definition) yes. It's just the next iteration of Green Day (or at least I hope it is). They're taking their sound to new places. NOT a disappointment at all--but don't expect to hear what you've already heard from them.
P.S. Lots of people complain about the length of the album (it's only 26 minutes), but it's a great ride. I don't care so much about how long and album is--just whether or not I want to listen to it again. And I keep coming back to listen to this one over and over.
