Seems to work
Difficult to tell how accurate this device is without paying to have the tracking checked professionally afterwards, which rather defeats the point of buying one. But I did check the tracking using this device before changing my track rod ends. It said the tracking was correct which ties in with the even tyre wear I've been getting. So first impressions are it is a simple and relatively cheap way to keep your tracking correct. Especially useful if you do a lot of off road. I've read in other places that it is very important to keep it clean and free from the grit it can pick up off the ground. It is easy to take apart and clean if it does start sticking.

Overall it does work, good for the money, but not perfect.
Used this on three wheel setups so far. Appears to work O.K., but has stopped working a couple of times. Upon examination the activating pointer had slipped off it's pivot. At first took a little while to work out trick of relocating pointer, but much quicker second time. The unit does not like being on a base having any dust or dirt, such as a concrete floor. The small sliding roller can get sticky from dust getting into them. But overall it does work, good for the money, but not perfect.

I should have bought one years ago
I have used a Mobry tracking tool for decades, but some cars are difficult to access and often needed two people to hold the tool. I have looked at the Gunson G4008 Trakrite for years and thought it would be a good tool as many other people have found. They were right, it is a good tool and tracking can be done easily by one person. I should have bought one years ago.

Saves Money
It works, but needs careful setting up. I drew a straight line on the ground using the sill as a guide to make sure it was positioned squarely. It came apart when I reversed over it to repeat the test, so it needs lifting each time to avoid this. It was easy to reassemble and clean. Given the cost of tracking it should pay for itself after two or three uses.

gunson g4008 trakrite wheel alignment gauge
great idea simple and accurate, too expensive for what it is, should be more durable for the price good for home use only but I don't know of any other product on the market like this not sorry I bought it. thanks brian....................

Accurate DiY alignment check
This has to be the best way to check alignment, you can never be sure how good the tyre warehouse technicians are. Would be happier if the roller bearing material was made of something more substantial.

Outstanding Tool for the Home Mechanic
This gauge is a cheap and effective way to measure total toe. I can't find anything similar stateside so I had to order this tool from England, but the good news is that it arrived quickly and was well packaged. Has successfully helped me set .25 degree of toe-in on my transverse fwd car and I highly recommend the Trakrite to anyone who is tired of paying $75+ every time you need an alignment.

A real timesaver
Brought the Trackrite tool to sort out my Dad's car after fitting new trackrod ends, nice and simple to use and no faffing around with lasers or bits of string. I don't feel it's going to be 100% accurate as a professional alignment but accurate enough to keep things within manufacturers specs and avoid unnecessary tyre wear, and quick enough to check tracking if, say you've hit a pothole and it knocked things out.

Overpriced for what you get barely does the job
I saw an earlier model made of metal and assumed this to be of the same quality ,,,,,,alas ,,,,,,,It has no longevity for use a few times and discarded
