Typically British, sadly!
Typically British, sadly! And why do I say that? Well, the design concept of this item is simply brilliant. Most of the design is equally brilliant. The move into manufacturing and then marketing is typically disastrously British! Why do we still think that the World owes us a living? This item offers some really valuable features but somewhere from that point to selling it to discerning users, it all went wrong. QUALITY is a fundamental need for business success. This item is one of many units that have had to be 'manufacturer' refurbished. That kills profit, costs reputations, and destroys jobs. My unit is working well and as such is easy to use, very powerful and a winner in every way. But for how long? Read the independent reviews! For what it is worth, buy it and revel in it. To the manufacturer, I say.......test it, test it again, and then test it again. There WILL BE weak points. Exactly what I wanted; exactly what my old stereo needed.
The sound quality is great. Dab, internet and fm radio all work perfectly. No problems with connecting to Bluetooth, and the UPnP media receiver was a pleasant surprise. I was also surprised by how small the unit was and how unobtrusive it is. The remote is little but easy to use. Great versatile compact unit
Great to add Spotify and digital radio to our Main room amplifier. Super easy to set up - great sound quality and has brought our av receiver bang up to date! Good value for money
I wanted something to work with my current hifi and tuner, but didn't know what the DAB reception is like in the area, so didn't want to spend a fortune. Design is nice, but the unit is a bit smaller than expected. Setting it up was easier than expected as was self tuning of radio stations. Initial scrolling through to see what there was a bit tedious, as stations listed alphabetical & as you have to step one channel at at time takes ages. The remote I find a tad small & could do with better search facility, (like TV remote where you can step whole screen of channels at a time.) If & just using preset stations this is not a problem. Sound quality, better than expected & has a better bass than my current tuner, not that I want things to sound bassy. Nice little gadget,
As it doesn't come with speakers I connected it via underused sound bar using digital connection. Now free to listen to any Internet Radio, DAB+ ready. It can be controlled via app. Only complaint is you can't switch it ON via app but you get fully functioning remote control with unit. A great little device
