Here is the new double seat swivel base designed by the Customshop team (UK/EU Design registration no. 6163583). The Ford Transit Custom (2013 - Onward) campervan / motorhome double seat base is the only crash tested double passenger swivel on the market. The locking points work on a unique 1/4 turn 'quick release' system so removing all 4 fixing bolts and rotating the base takes literally seconds! (raises the seat by 65mm) and has passed seat belt anchorage safety tests using a pull test on a specialist test rig to EC Directive 76/115/EEC as amended by 2005/41/EEC which is a legal requirement to comply with current insurance regulations, and also peace of mind when transporting your friends and family around.

Transit swivel base 13 plate on.
Having read previous reviews i was a bit unsure about this item. But when it turned up on time. Quality of item plus weight it is well built. Fitting now this is were it gets interesting. As some previous reviews have stated you will need extra packing washers m12 not provided. if you get the swivel base level before bolting down it's easy enough (But make sure you get this right otherwise you will never get it to lock in place) the rest of instructions are straightforward enough. Great but not as easy to fit as made out
A very weighty and well made item. Should have been packed more securely as it had burst through the plywood packing and the box on delivery. No damage however. Removal of original seat was fairly simple, you need a TX55 to remove the very tight bolts. Fitting the swivel was not as quick and easy as made out. Took about four attempts to get it shimmed level and needed extra M12 washers for this so be prepared - for the price they should really supply a few. Alignment of a couple of bolts was slightly out too and I had to use some brute force to get them all in. When re-fitting the seat to the swivel I again needed a couple of shim washers to get it to sit flat and the locks to work smoothly. It’s a bit fiddly to use with four locks and six safety pins and raises the seat by a couple of inches leaving very little room for the headrests when rotating it. Also can’t seem to rotate it without opening the passenger door slightly (maybe I need to practice more). Overall though a great item and all the effort to fit it was worth it in the end as it works great, nice and smooth and really improves the use of our van.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Solid, tricky to fit, does the job
Its a really tight fit with hardly any clearance when rotating the base. If you haven't fitted one before it can be tricky getting levels right / reducing height of plastic flooring so it rotates without catching. Instructions could be clearer / more explicit. As easy to install as they claim
We purchased this base with a certain amount of trepidation. Worrying about whether the install would be a challenge as we’ve seen several conflicting comments. Fear not!! It was easy to install. Once in it takes a little bit of practice to get the swivel right but it is definitely worth the money and totally opens up the back of the van with the seat turned around.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu
