The Gitzo GT2542T Series 2 Traveler Tripod is a strong, stable yet extremely compact and lightweight carbon fibre tripod, designed to balance uncompromising professional support with ease of transport for travelling photographers. Gitzo s innovative Traveler design is more compact than a standard tripod structure because the 4-section legs turn 180deg. so that, when folded, they completely enclose the centre column locking mechanism and the column itself. Despite its short folded length, the GT2542T opens to a practical working height for everyday use.The GT2542T can be used with any head. For those who require extreme compactness, a Gitzo Traveler ball head is recommended, since it too fits within the tripod s own folded dimensions and enveloped by the legs. The GT2542T legs are made from the same high-performance rigid and lightweight Gitzo 6X carbon fibre tubing as is used on Gitzo Mountaineer and top-of-the-range Systematic tripods, with G-Lock leg locking rings for faster set-up and positioning and magnesium castings to help keep weight to an absolute minimum.Product Identifiers

Fantastic tripod.
I highly recommend it (worth it if you can find a deal). It's light as a feather and ridiculously strong. I don't love the Gitzo kit tripod head that came with it - it's clumsy to use, hard to adjust, (gets stuck) and the lack of friction on the top of the quick release plate means heavier objects can slip around even when tightened fully.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Great Gitzo Quality
The auality of Gitzo tripods is well-known, and this GT2542L is a ptime example. I purchased this specifically for a week in the Rockies during which I would be moving frequently. Since I would not be using a long lens, this 2 series seems perfect (a longer lens would require something heavier). The fit and finish are great and the operation is smooth.
