Technomate TM - 5402 HD Satellite Receiver, Hardware blind scan & F1 Feed Channel Scan.
Almost unique amongst satellite receivers, the TM - 5402 has it all. Most receivers use a pre-programmed software blind scan, where as the TM - 5402 uses a separate hardware module to carry out a blind scan which means you are more likely to lock weaker signals from transponders. A special feature which I have not seen on other receivers is the F1 button on the remote control, which if you press before you begin a scan will enable your receiver to scan for broadcast feed channels, these are the ones which are used by television companies to choose their media content, so you can view stuff which you wont see on other satellite receivers. Another good feature on the blind scan is the ability to scan at 1,2,4 or 8 Mhz , most receivers scan only 4 0r 8 Mhz. Little box with a big punch
I have had a TM Twin for years now and the Technomate brand and support is second to none. The receiver was smaller and lighter than I expected but easy to connect too. One thing I did not like was the instructions. They are not intuitive and could be simplified. It took me a while to get things properly sorted out. However, it has to be said, once done all was forgiven. I like the EPG and quick way you change satellites with this box. Picture quality is great. High Tech model for a low tech price
I chose this Technomate model as it had received good reports from the tech reviews. My experience of cheaper such items is the menu system can be complex and sometimes frustrating. However, purchased new, it can cost around £90 or more. Second hand and bought on auction, £30 represented good value. On receipt, I downloaded the manual and printed the most relevant pages. I found I did have to change the language and re scan the satellites as the previous owner was a German living in London. Excellent quality with great picture.

Good receiver with alot of functions
The receiver is good with alot of additional functions and firmware up-gradability, works well with USALS and DisEqC motor protocols, can be a little fiddly with setting up favourite channels, has a backup system for EPG/channels, user setting and firmware via USB and supports DVR functionality with external USB hard drive.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

An All Round Ideal Satellite Receiver
It is easy to set up to your chosen satellite dish configuration and the particular satellites you wish to use. It also has an excellent 'P.V.R.' recording system and Internet access. A Great Receiver
For the satellite and feed hunter a super receiver. It seems to handle weak signals well, much better than my old Technomate 1000. Easy to set up as a simple 1 satellite receiver but of course rather more complicated when setting up for a number of different satellites. I've always been a fan of Technomate receivers and the 5402 has reinforced that opinion.I love the way when you select a satellite it only shows you the channels for that satellite starting at 0001 and you only see all the channels when you select the 'all satellites' option. great simple box
my 3rd of these and cant fault them , easy set up ,including finding satellites and good blind scan for channel searches ,good channel menu options makes finding the right channel easier from those installed ,easy to use picture and sound settings , picture quality excellent in HD and SD ,the bonus of iptv enabled with MK3 a really good addition ,for new users this box is so simple to both set up and use and easy for enthusiasts to enhance available channels only fault is the single HD socket which can be a bit sensitive so be cautious when inserting cable , finally a plea to technomate please make mk 4 with uhd 4k tuner it would be a great sellerBestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

A good value receiver at a sensible price!
This unit is a replacement for an identical one that died after just 18 months intermittent use..,. I hope this one lasts longer, however, mustn't grumble for what it cost! Not impressed
