The long, tubular Sony HT-CT260 sound bar makes the decision of where to put it in your entertainment room an easy one. In fact, the first impression of this sound bar is a surprising one because the speaker is shaped in a hexagonal fashion. It can be hung on a wall on nearly any side that you please. With metal end plugs, this Sony HT-CT260 home theater system has the appeal and quality to stand the test of time.The wireless subwoofer affords simple placement in a room as long as it is within a few feet of the bar installation. This wireless subwoofer speaker is relatively simple by design, and you'll appreciate the LED embedded in the side. This light switches from green to red, depending on if it's activated or not. For those subtle bass sounds, you'll know that the Dolby Digital and DTS audio functions are on with the LED shining brightly from a floor location.Few steps are necessary to connect this speaker arrangement to your TV and its auxiliary devices. The backside consists of only three inputs: optical, coaxial, and a mini jack. As long as all of your other components are already connected to the television, you only need to connect the TV's optical output to the bar. You'll love the cable access points hidden in a cutout within the bar too. The connections can remain firmly intact as you slide the Sony HT-CT260 speaker onto the wall with a few screws. No wires will push the surround sound away from the wall's flat surface.The HT-CT260's flexibility extends to its built-in remote control signal repeater that ensures sound output should the bar block your television's remote signal. Integrated stereo electronics amplify the signal so that no button presses are missed to your HDTV or other components. The remote control for the Sony bar and subwoofer configuration is an instinctual design with black and green accents matching it to the LED lights on the speakers. You'll find the volume control at a comfortable position on the remote so that the sound bar is always at the right sound level.Built-in Bluetooth allows you to stream Pandora or any other application from your mobile components to the sound system. Devices might include any model of smartphone or tablet. Create a playlist, and the Sony audio accessories will pick up the signal without any interference from other products in the area.Although most users access the remote for any alterations to their music, the bar does have a small, digital display for basic changes. Volume and power buttons are housed in this area along with an input selector. Toggle to a different channel or activate Bluetooth from this area. When the wireless control isn't available, you can still have crisp songs emanating from the subwoofer and hexagonal components.There's no need to look for the "front" of these speakers because their sound emanates from nearly every side of their housings. Second chances are but few!
I'd purchased THIS Sony soundbar with accompaning subwoofer and have been very happy with it's superb sound quality! Recently however my soundbar was damaged from a power surge & thus was examined and rendered unrepairable by a technician! I was heartbroken, but i came across THIS same exact model of my soundbar here on Ebay! The price was fair for a used soundbar with some mino cosmetic wear & tear! Upon receiving this second band Sony soundbar i was taken back at the superb sound STILL provided and works perfectly with the subwoofer from my original sound system! Sony sound bar 260 ht
This is a great sounding sound bar with a great bass response from the subwoofer. But it cost more than the new model , the 380. I think that it is over priced! But overall it is a great sounding sound bar! You will be well pleased when watching your favorite movies or listening to some great music!
