It's a tool to perform a specific function. It performs that function. It is used to program the options in my remote starter. The alternative is to use the remote to scroll through and choose the options rather blindly. You also have to make your selection within a few seconds if you're just using the remote. Its comparable to other mid to high end brands
They expect you to have it installed by a dealer so the information is there but its not step by step. A great buy for anyone with a Firstech Remote Starter

Small, light, and easy to use!
The easiest and quickest way to program options and special options menus on Firstech Compustar alarm/remote start modules. For all of the installers out there, this is a "must have" tool.
