Better than the originals!
After Santa Claus brought me an early present of a pellet smoker last year, I quit trying to smoke things in my Weber Summit grill. Thus, the "smoke box" in my Weber has been unused ever since. This smoke box replacement kit gave me back about 76 square inches of grill space, which is enough for roughly three chicken breasts or four hamburger patties. This might not seem all that important, but when you're trying to cook a whole bag of Trader Joe's chicken breasts while tossing some veggie chunks in olive oil over the flames in a Weber "grill basket", it sure is nice to have more grill space! The flavor bar fits perfectly between the tabs that used to hold the smoke box, and looks identical to the "original" bars to its left. The spot-welds securing the bars of the grate are beautifully done, and the spot-welding marks have been polished away on the top of the grill so that you can hardly see them unless you hold the grate up to the light at just the right angle when it's brand new. The ends of the grate rods are all thoroughly de-burred and beveled. They're apparently made with even more care than the originals! The attached photo shows this kit right after I installed it. (Look for the three shiny grate rails on the right-hand side.) I couldn't make these parts on a "one-off" basis in our machine shop and sell them for anywhere close to this price, so it's wonderful that someone has gone into larger-scale production and made them available to the rest of us. What a deal!

Perfect Replacement Grate
I have had my Summit grill for a couple of years. When I first bought it I wondered if there was a swap for the smoker box. I was told they had one a couple of years prior but had stopped doing it. I had thought I would buy another factory grate then cut it down, and then have to get the flavorizor bar. I never got around to it and really didn't want to waste the rest of it for the price. So when recently I ran across this replacement kit I had to get it. I found someone had done what I was thinking. And he did an excellent job. The grate is an exact match, and the flavorizor bar seems better than the factory ones. The Summit is a well built grill, but if any of the parts go out I will be ordering from here. GREAT PRODUCT !

No downside to this, it fits perfect and I get to reclaim the grill space from a useless smoker box.

just what I was looking for
Easy to order, shipped right away. Works great. Solid quality. It is indistinguishable from the original cooking grates and flavor bar. Nice to have the usable space on the grill.

Outstanding! Hope Weber never catches on
Replaces that unused smoker box (I have a smoker) and gives you back your grill space! Quality construction, made as solid as the original grill grates! Now I don't know what to do with the unused smoker box so it sits in the basement...

Great product, perfect fit for Weber Summit
Great product, very well made, an exact fit for my Weber Summit grill. When I am not using the smoker box, this grate and flavor bar give me the full footprint of the grill. Highly recommend.

Outstanding
Absolutely wonderful item, perfect fit and AT LEAST as well made as the Weber grates that came with your Summit. Probably better. Add to that fast shipping and you have money well spent.

Great grill space extender!
Extended my grill by replacing the smoker box (which I never used). It looks like the grill has always been that way.
