You can not expect to use some item or equipment indefinitely. Eventually it will break down or wear out.
An improvement over the original switch that came with the boat. Replacing the switch was a move that more than met my expectations. It proves the idea that even the most dependable original equipment wears out in spite of ones preconceived notions of the matter.
