Sony cd900st
This is my second pair. I regretted selling the first pair and purchased a new pair when i could afford it! They are not for everyone in that they are very neutral and uncoloured. I love the sound of these for everyday listening and use my sennheiser hd25 for dj mixing which are perfect for that role. The detail in the mid range of the Sony's is very warm sounding and clear especially for vocals. Top end is very flat as is the bass. With a good headphone dac or traditional amp with good headphone stage they are a winner especially for any sound studio work.

In studio (monitoring / mixing) use, these have stellar resolution. Bought YAXIs for them but surprisingly comfortable - 6 hours immediately upon arrival. Maxed out size however (7 7/8 hat size head). Running straight from a Scarlett 18i20 and no amp needed - 60% volume is all I can stand, and even then, they're clean, clear and crisp but not harsh at all. Every nuance is clearly apparent when applying compression and multiple sidechain effects. Got a wall full of very capable phones - and I'm reasonably certain they'll do little but gather dust going forward. Zero coloration - excellent soundstage - everything that's in the mix and absolutely nothing that isn't. They'll make you realize quickly how bad other sets are, even if you loved the old ones.

Excellent monitoring headphones with balanced neutral sound -
Old school, high quality, amazing "honest" neutral sound - big 1/4 inch plug. There's a good reason these have been used in Japanese studios for decades. They rock.

Saw a review on these and placed a order from Japan!
The MDR-CD900st headphones came straight from japan. These are old school connected wire with a 1/4” plug. Now a good cable and serious plug. I did replace the stock ear pads with YAXI pads.

Headphone for the next (few?) decade.
No cons at all, this is a Japanese product... Cable could be braided for extra protection because of the expected long term use. Very satisfied.

MDR-CD900ST Wow!
These are incredible. They make my MDR-7506 sound very thin. These have incredible presence in the lower midrange and mid bass while having just the right amount of top and bottom. Very very happy!

Best headphones ever
I bought these as a spare, in case anything happened to the originals. Best headphones I have ever owned, and, I own a few, as I do alot of headphone listening.

Little bit expensive for that price
1. The sound quality is not what I hoped for 2. The connecting plug is only the quarter inch plug with no option for the 3.5mm input 3. No Headphone pouch supplied.
