YOU WILL ENJOY VISITING GRACE BROTHERS FOR A SMILE!
I USED TO WATCH THIS SHOW ON OUR LOCAL PBS CHANNEL AND NOW IT'S GREAT TO OWN THE WHOLE SERIES. EACH DISC HAS SIX EPISODES AND A TRIVIA SECTION WITH FACTS ABOUT THE SHOWS. THE SHOWS ARE BEAUTIFULLY RESTORED. THE COLOR IS GREAT AND THE SOUND IS TOO. THIS IS THE SLIM CASE AND THE DISCS ARE PACKED NICELY BY TWOS AND THERE'S PHOTOS OF THE CAST ON EACH DISC. Great British comedy, a wonderful DVD collection.
I bought this set as a gift for a family member and it was money very well spent. They watch it all the time and love the show/ DVD set. You get every TV episode, the picture quality is fine and some of the episodes are classics of the comedy genre. If you like UK comedies then I would recommend "Are You Being Served?". Absolutely, incredibly hilarious British Comedy!!
This is one of the best comedies of all time. Every single character is amazing and has their own acting worthiness and engaging comedic abilities from stoic, poker faced, to stodgy, stuffy to adorable to quirky and I could go on and on. Funny, great image quality, lots of features!
Awesomely funny series, even though it is dated, the humor has not faded with time. The quality of the DVD Video is better than I expected, very clean without the film effect you see when watching the series from televised sources. It includes the Black & White Pilot plus lots of Trivia and information on each episode. Absolutely hilarious, great characters and great writing!!
Awesome characters, I haven't seem this series in 20 years and its just as funny now as it was then!! I'm so glad I bought it and will enjoy watching it with all the family for many years to come!! I've worked in Retail for 40 years and we had our moments but this show takes the prize, well worth the purchase price. There's always something brewing at Grace Bros.
One of my favoUrite shows U K or USA. Hysterical antics and outrageous behavioUr rule the roost in this classic sitcom. And the characters are unforgetable. When the original cast was intact: Mrs. Slocum; Captain Peacock, Wilburfoce Humprise, et al, it was prime viewing. May have seen each ep at least 3-5 times. FAvourite ep: when Mrs. Slocum is run out her flat She moves her things into GRACE BROS.!!!! If U have NEVER seen AYBS? Shame Shame. Awesome and Addictive!
Awesome and Addictive says it all! The show is zany and the people likeable-especially Mr. Humphries who you just wish you knew. Full of laughs from beginning to end of every show no matter what they do or get into. I LOVE it! If you like slightly older British comedies, then if you don't know this one then it's definitely one you ought to check out. I promise you won't regret it. What got me was the older woman had the green and blue and orange and other colored hair while the young girl pretty much kept her own color. Time flies by so fast when this is on and my mother, who has dementia, is crazy about it. At first she wasn't so sure but by the fourth show, she was hooked. Now she needs to see three shows a night, which is fine by me. This is one bunch that'll get under your skin in all the best ways and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. This series is absolutely hilarious and engaging! You'd think with the age of it that it would be a little off in the relate-ability department but (unfortunately!) things haven't changed much in retail and the same woes of departmental and customer relations have stayed the same over the years! I have always loved the crew from the show, they are funny and entertaining. I could not pick out just one person in the show as I loved them all. I surely missed the show when it went off the air.
