Vintage Vitantonio Mickey Mouse Waffle Iron 950
What a fabulous waffle maker. Not only are the waffles very cute but this waffle iron actually makes waffles better than my regular waffle iron, which I formerly thought were the best waffles. Lots of great waffle irons turn up on ebay because people get rid of them when they think the non-stick has gone bad because of sticking. The problem is that they spray their irons with Pam or some other cooking spray. They contain lecithin which becomes gummy when sprayed on a hot waffle iron. So they spray even more Pam, it just goes downhill from there and they leave bad reviews on Amazon and list the irons on ebay. The non-stick is NOT damaged. All you have to do is soak these plates with sudsing ammonia. In a pinch you can use windex (I've done it lots of times). For this waffle iron the plates don't come off so it's a little bit more trouble but not too bad. Flood the design in your waffle iron with the sudsing ammonia, let sit for a while and then scrub with an old toothbrush. You might have to repeat the process but you'll soon have a good as new waffle iron. There is NO reason to ever spray a non-stick waffle iron with a spray. Stay away from them and you'll be making waffles that don't stick for the life of your waffle iron. Back to this waffle iron specifically - My normal homemade waffle batter needs to be a little bit thinned down for use in this waffle iron in order to properly flow into the far edges of the ear and the area under Mickey's mouth. Also, the waffle iron requires much less batter than it would seem. The first few waffles I made ran very much over the sides. I use one small ladle full of batter and with the back of the ladle carefully push that batter into the ear and mouth area to be sure it will come out looking right. Nothing worse than a couple of tired 3 year old kids looking at an imperfectly formed Mickey Mouse to start the day. You won't make that mistake twice!!Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht
