Proud Enthusiast
This was a professional level camera that appeared in 2012 and it is still at that level today. This was a big step up from the previous model of the A900/A850 in that it had the transluscent mirror technology, enabling better focussing and providing an excellent electronic viewfinder. The camera controls are easy to use and well laid out. The tough body, which is weather sealed, means no worries about dust and moisture getting into the interior. Certainly not a lightweight camera, but it still balances well in the hand. The one I purchased also came with the vertical grip, that screws into the base of the camera and takes two additional batteries for thos long days out, or just doing a lot of vertical shots. Coupled with a huge range of Minolta, Sony or other third party A-mount lenses, this camera body will give the enthusiast a camera to be proud of.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

A Welcom Upgrade
My A77 has been showing signs of wear so I decided to upgrade to the A99 and having had to adapt to the slightly more sophisticated specification I am glad that I did so. I found that the 16-50mm f2.8 SONY SSM DT is not totally compatible, i.e. it is designed for crop factor cameras, not full frame as the A99 is, and found a KONICA-MINOLTA 17-35mm F2.8 -f4 which has literally broadened my horizons.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

My new used a 99
It had just one speck of dust on the sensor which I was able to remove easily. It's nice to be able to use my full frame lenses on this camera rather than my a 77. Great camera
I find the Sony A99 to be a good alternative to my Canon camera which I had previously used. The image stabilisation built into the camera is a great bonus, I can use older lenses more often without the need for a tripod. I mainly am using minolta lenses with mine, a 80-200mm f/2.8 APO HS G is the best lens I have ever had. The results are amazing. The downside is that a lot of new lenses are made for Sonys E-mount now, but there are some great A-mount still to be found that can give as good as results if not better than some of the newer E-mount ones.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Excellent image and build quality
I'd been wanting an Alpha 99 for a while, and I'm delighted to finally own one. The image quality is terrific and it boasts many excellent features, including automatic GPS tagging. Before you get all boggily eyed over ever greater pixel numbers consider this. 24million is as many as you will ever need for professional publication.
