Worried about reverse not working

Awkward to use and poor performance.
The machine is difficult to thread - especially inserting and drawing thread up from the bobbin. Much of the threading process is 'blind', i.e. behind the plastic of the casing, so that it is difficult to eliminate problems or check for accuracy.
