Staub 26cm Cocotte (dutch oven)
I had been looking for a proper dutch oven for a long time, I had spent hours looking at the Le Creuset but to my mind the Staub is thicker with straigher edges which makes more sence in a kitchen. Yes, there are not as many colors to choose from but I sure found one that fit the bill. Things in the design I worry about are; the seal for the steamer basket, if the handles will withstand a drop to the floor, how scratch resistant the bottom of the dutch oven is and if the color will fade or vanish over time. Things I like in the design are; the heft (a dutch oven should retain heat, therefore it requires mass), the straightness of the edges, the black enamel (will not look tatty over time). Things you should think about before you buy one are; the size (will it fit the hob?) and the color. 5/5 would buy again.

Es ist ein schwerer, gußeisener Topf, der sehr gut verarbeitet ist. Die Farbe ist sehr schön und das Kochen macht Spaß.
