The Ageless Classic
I was in high school when this came out in theaters. Sometime within the last decade there was talk of a new film with "young" actors playing the roles of the star-crossed lovers- as if it was the first time! It was visually spectacular and Hussey/Whiting were endearing and engaging. At the end, there wasn't a dry eye in the house. This film deserves full restoration and Shakespeare fans of all ages should see it. They will appreciate it for the true masterpiece it was and is still is. There IS no greater film representation to this day in my book.

Love this Original
I remember seeing this movie a long time ago when it first came out. I loved the language they used that was appropriate to this era of time. I had the soundtrack before I bought the movie on VHS. This is a movie that you delight in seeing over and over again for the music, the graceful dancing and the beauty of it. Although this is a bittersweet movie, you will also enjoy the comedy that is infused. All the characters were riveting. This is a movie I highly recommend.

The Best Ever Made..
This is the best movie of Romeo and Juliet i ever really liked.. The Costumes, the set, the acting, the characters...i cant really say enough for this film... it was almost like being there..there is nothing bad i can say about this Romeo and Juilet... you will just have to experienced it... it is worth it... i wanted to say also... the shipping from wherever this was shipped from exceeded the time they said it would arrive... it was here in like 2-3 days after ordering it... i was pleasantly surprised to say the least...

A BLAST FROM THE PAST: A 52-YEAR OLD MOVIE, BUT YOU CAN'T GO WRONG THE BARD OF AVON!
I watched this movie as a teenager, and loved it then. It is a Period Piece, which I prefer to a "modernized" version of Shakespeare. The acting, locations, costumes, hair and makeup are superb. This movie is every bit as good as I remembered. I am very glad I got it in DVD format. I am NOT going to write a ridiculously long review. NOT needed with a truly GREAT MOVIE.

Saw in theater in Japan at age 13
This 1968 version is the BEST! I remember my sister and I sitting through 2 showings in one night, at age 13,on an Air Force Base in Japan. At first sight of Romeo,girls in the theater,including myself thought he was so cute! Soon after,my sister and I bought the Soundtrack. We played it so often we knew most of the dialog by heart. I bought Olivia Hussey's book The Girl on the Balcony today and look forward to reading.

A true classic "love" story!
This movie was as good as it has been spoken of! My wife and I popped some popcorn and sat back and watch the whole thing completely through. It is well directed and the characters were well portrayed by each actor or actress. The scenery was typically good for the era in which it was produced. We were glad we bought it and will keep it in our collection of other older movies for viewing over and over again through the years to come.

Best version of Romeo and Juliet with Korean subtitles
I really enjoyed watching this version, as I had done so initially in an English Literature class. Franco Zeffirelli is the best when it comes to Shakespeare. The only issue I had, was the formatting of the video, which seemed to be stretched oddly in a vertical direction. No matter what I did to adjust the aspect ration on player and TV resolved issue. For that, minus 1 star. :(

THE Love Tragedy
The best film version of this classic tale. Lush production values and two beautiful children in the leading roles. I saw this when it was brand new, in theaters and it helped solidify a lifetime in thrall to Mr Shakespeare for me. The only negative is that the quality of the video and sound are acceptable but far from the best. If there is a remastered version (which I'm sure there is), I would recommend spending whatever extra cost involved to acquire it. But if you're on a budget, as I am, better this version than none at all.

Excellent movie
This is by far the best version of Romeo and Juliet ever made by far! The actors are absolutely perfect for their roles and the music is really powerful too. A truly beautiful movie in every way, highly recommended!

Falling in love again
I was a senior in high school when this movie was first released. I fell in love in 1969...50 years later finds me falling in love again. Both Olivia and Leonard gave such mature portrayals of our most iconic star-crossed lovers. This movie is truly a work of art. This particular version will never be out of date.
