A "teen" version of X-Files?
Very engaging and well-written series. Unlike X-Files, the story line is ongoing rather than a different storyline each week (like X-Files was), thus maintaining a continuity of characters and plot. The twists and turns and unexpected reveals are what keep things at a heightened level. Special effects are, in some cases, mindboggling but effective--and rarely detract from the storyline. I've ordered Season 2 and can hardly wait for it to arrive to see what happens next!

Best Christmas present ever
This show is so good, and they made it even better with this presentation. You couldn't have asked for a better way to get fully nostalgic with this format. I hope they release a special edition for season 2, as well.

Strange that it is so Good
Like most I loved the "retro" VHS packaging on this Blu-ray. But what was better was that the center piece that holds the disc was not that cheap plastic that always breaks, it was a felt-like disc, so no scratching of your discs either as you try to put them back. The only negative, like most have already said, was that you had to sit through the several minutes long preview and some other thing without the ability to skip past it. Believe me I tried all the options to no avail. Otherwise like everybody else, I am loving the series. The cliff hangers are really that--you almost always have to move on to the next episode---I see why people binge watch this, because you can't get away.

The name certainly lives up to the title
I like oddball, interesting (that is to say quirky) entertainment. This series certainly fits the bill. My son told me about it.He has BluRay and I have DVD so told him I would buy the combo set and give him the BluRay but I kept the box.

Reminds me of the "Harry Potter" film series on a TV budget.
I was amazed at the depth of the emotions I felt while watching it (I hated the predatory Romeo!). That led me to stop viewing it to regroup my feelings. The next day I got back into it and didn't stop watching "Stranger Things, Season 1" until the end of Chapter 8. I then ordered Season 2!

Great deal, great show!
The market dictates that these end up super cheap right now, and I got it to see if Netflix shows are of a high enough quality to subscribe. Well, it convinced me to subscribe! Stranger Things is so far an outstanding show. The VHS packaging is really cool, and the poster is cool enough, but not really my thing. For 5 dollars, this was an excellent preview of an excellent streaming service.

the price for this item is very cheap for the amazing quality that you receive; unbelievable how cool these sets are! so happy i finally got one of my favorite shows on dvd in some of the most unique and intriguing packaging out there! five stars!!

Great Show, Clever Boxset Design
Great show!! The way they designed this set was very interesting and smart. Making it look like an old VHS tape is a throwback to the 80s, much like the show itself. I also loved the poster and cover art. Being a big fan, I just had to buy this! I’m so glad that I did. If you love the show, you will for sure want one of these box sets. It’s worth it!!

This special edition VHS box is awesome.I love the retro 80's look to it. Even the roughed up faux corners of the VHS box looks real.Recieved it in great condition. This is a must have for a stranger things fan.

Great young actors, good script, Winona, David and others make it an exciting show to watch. Love the nostalgia
