The Dell Precision T7400 PC Desktop is designed around the Windows 7 operating system and the NVIDIA Quadro FX 5800 graphics card. It has a well-ventilated form factor case designed to optimize handling and airflow, making it ideal for LAN parties and cramped offices. The Dell Precision T7400 PC Desktop is primarily intended to be used for graphically intensive programming applications, such as game programming and 3D animation. With an emphasis on energy efficiency and high-powered rendering capabilities, the Dell Precision T7400 PC is an excellent choice for game developers, gamers, and animators.The Dell Precision T7400 PC has powerful hardware befitting of its intended purpose. The computer uses the Intel t5400 Chipset for the motherboard, which can seat any of the Intel Xeon 64-bit multicore processors, thus enabling up to 1.6 GHz of CPU power per core to be installed. Multiple Xeon processors are available, with the machine able to handle up to 6.4 GHz of processing power. Up to 12.8GB of data can be transmitted between the cores and across the motherboard each second. The motherboard can also accommodate up to 64GB of memory. It is also compatible with any 64-bit operating system, including Linux and Windows 10. However, the heart of the Dell Precision T7400 PC Desktop is the NVIDIA Quadro FX 5800 graphics card, so named because of its "quad" four core layout. With 4GB GDDR3, it can render millions of polygons per second, making it ideal for graphically intensive gaming applications. The 512-bit connection can transmit data at up to 102 GB/sec. Despite this, the NVIDIA card has a maximum power consumption of 189W, and the machine meets Energy Star 4.0 and Energy Smart regulations. The provided power supply can provide up to 250W of power and the case can accommodate up to 500W power supplies. This ensures that the Dell Precision has a very efficient running cost over time, making it ideal as a primary machine or as a render slave to supplement other workstations. Equipped with three SATA ports and hard drive trays, it can handle up to five 2TB hard drives internally, enabling up to ten TB of internal storage. SAS ports are available to enable legacy drives to be installed. Eight USB ports permit additional external storage or input devices. Two screens are natively supported, with up to four being optional via upgrades. Video can be output via DVI-I or Display Port cables. The computer can handle both wired and wireless mice, keyboards, joysticks, controllers, and other input devices.The Dell Precision is subject to the ISV Application Certification to ensure maximum compatibility with Microsoft and other graphics suites. In total, 25 active certified ISV programs are guaranteed to work on the machine. An additional 60 application certifications have also been secured, ensuring a high degree of compatibility right out of the box with the most common software. Nice Machine
These older servers make a great desktop PC or any other project one might need. They have the horse power for large tasks, and come at a great price instead of the 5 grand they were when new. T7400 Workstation
Fantastic machine, delivered as promised. Works, just add memory and HDDs. Contained the Quadro Pro 1700 video card so the machine booted, displayed information and is up and running as a linux computer. Great value because HDD & memory were readily available at low prices.
