Daiwa bg 6500
It is the middle of winter, so I have only had this reel out a couple of times. But, I have caught a few catfish with it already. This reel I sturdy, strong and well made. It is also extremely smooth and very fast for a reel so large. Catfish alot of times will run right at you and the bg 6500 will more than keep up with the fish. The only thing I don't know about yet is the longevity of the reel... But, if I was a betting man, I would put my money on it doing so! All in all I couldn't be happier with daiwa's bg 6500.... Great reel!!!

Better than the original black and gold daiwa .
This reel is the best I have ever purchased. I still have the original daiwa bg 90 from 1984 and still going strong. There is a video on YouTube on how to service this fishing reel. I will also buy the bg 4000. I cannot believe the quality of this reel for this price point. It is the smoothest well balanced reel I have ever purchased.

Daiwa BG 5000 Reel Review
The Daiwa BG 5000 spinning reel has the smoothest bearings I have ever felt on a saltwater reel. It's quality and price stands out from the competition making it a no brainer to try. The only drawback that I personally find is the lack of an automatic bail closer. It's not a big deal, but it is what I am used to.

Beautiful, tight, smooth action. FYI - the bail is not automatic. Must be flipped by hand before the retrieval. No big deal. One less moving part that can break! I’m super stoked to own one of these. The monsters of the deep have no chance! I will own them 🤩!

Great Spinning reel Dependable and Lightwieght with great features

I love Daiwa reels
Been wanting a 6500 BG for a 10 foot surf fishing rod I have. I am looking forward to getting to use it. I love Daiwa BG reels. They are smooth, strong, and look good.

Salt water fishing
Light to med spinning reel built strong should last for many years .the smoothness and strength is the same as another reel I have but it cost five times more . Going to buy one more !
