The CDC-697 is a 5-Disc Carousal-type CD Changer offers uninterrupted enjoyment of high sound quality with superior digital performance and easy operation with CD-RW disc compatibility, custom control interface and CD Text display.Yamaha's new Super-Silent Mechanism uses a both belt and gear drive to ensure smooth disc rotation and plastic rollers under the tray to allow it to move more smoothly. The disc being played is isolated from vibration on a separate tray, and held in place by a disc stabilizer. The entire disc changing system thus helps to maximize sound quality. The laser pickup is isolated on a floating mechanism so its delicate operation cannot be affected by vibration. Conventional tracking servo circuitry cannot completely overcome errors caused by disc defects, warpage, dust and so on. This system uses a microcomputer to monitor the signal, adjusting pickup tracking and focus, as well as spindle motor speed, to compensate for any problems. Because every single part affects sound quality, Yamaha uses nothing but the best. The special Low-Impedance Power Supply, for example, uses extra thick wires to ensure that power is absolutely stable even under low-impedance conditions.Product Identifiers

Great Yamaha cd changer!

I love it
I matched this Yamaha CD player to my Yamaha amplifier and the sound is amazing. It is easy to use out of the box and comes ready to go. It has advanced features but is easy to just hook it up with the RCA cables, stick in a disc and hit play.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Sounds Great but Poor Ergonomics
This five disc carousel CD player, (Yamaha CDC-697) sounds good. Clear and smooth. The ergonomics of it leave something to be desired. When you open the tray to insert or remove discs it hides the push button controls from view. In other words, the push buttons on the front panel are below the tray that holds the CDs. So when the tray is "out" you can't see the controls. Another issue is the controls themselves.
