The Sony MDR-E9LP headphones are a pair of lightweight black in-ear headphones. The headphones only weigh 5.7 g (0.2 oz) without the cord which makes them suitable for on-the-go listening. These Sony headphones feature 13.5-mm dome type driver units, neodymium magnets, an impedance of 16 Ohms at 1 kHz, and a sensitivity of 104 dB. Furthermore, the frequency response of these in-ear headphones is between 18 Hz and 22 kHz and the power-handling capacity is 100 mW. The Sony MDR-E9LP headphones can be connected to an audio device via the 121.9-cm (4-foot) cord with an L-shaped 3.5 mm standard audio plug. Lightweight on low tones
I bought this as a replacement for the earphones that came with my Walkman for over 25 years ago. A connection in the cable went bad, resulting in an intermittent left unit. This replacement is quite smaller, resulting in sound without base tones, making the experience squeeky and incomplete. When one is listening to anything but music one knows well it is bearable, but when one wants to enjoy known music it is like being smacked in the face. Some good headphones

Sony

What have Sony done?
I would expect better of Sony. The sound quality is absolutely terrible. The output is tinny and all in the high end of the audio spectrum. It almost made my ears bleed! If you value your hearing, do not buy these. Blame Sony for an utterly useless product. If you would rather go deaf or not hear a woman screaching at you, buy them. Terrible sound quality - fake?
