Helped me integrate VSI's into my DAW
1st off I have to admit an initial case of buyers remorse after first purchasing the EIE Pro. I had already committed to my purchase when I went to YouTube and found all the complaints and negative comments... The unit was en-route and I couldn't cancel the deal.... What luck! I've just begun setting up and decided to use the Reaper DAW for editing and production (love it's features and price... great price), and as soon as the EIE arrived I thought great! just plug and play... It didn't quite work out that way. No matter what I tried I couldn't get Reaper to recognize my Korg Legacy VSI's... tried new drivers and everything I could think of... it saw my Applied Acoustics and other synths but not the Korg. Out of desperation I dreamed up a work around that relied on the EIE and it worked. I was able to operate the Korg stuff as stand alone, so I 1st loaded the Korg module I wanted and then brought up Reaper. I then ran a set of leads from the EIE main output by using a spliter on each and plugged them into the EIE's number 3 and 4 inputs. I created a new track in Reaper and assigned its inputs to the EIE 3 and 4. As such I am using the EIE for both an input to my DAW and an output from my Korg module and DAW simultaneously. While I'm sure I might be adding some latency it really isn't evident in function. I'm able to play along with the DAW while still laying down the new track. Being a novice I'm not sure if all interface's could do such a thing but I know this EIE Pro is. It really seems quite versatile and simple to use.... I really do like it and haven't found any problems as mentioned on the web. In retrospect I could have probably nixed the splitters and just come off the EIE's # 3 and 4 outputs... but hey, it just leaves me more open to other out's now. All said, I would feel confident in saying that you couldn't go wrong with this interface for the price.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Not impressed
For the price I expected something a bit better. It looks and feels awesome but there are better around this price range. Also, a lot of people have said they've had trouble with them stop working and I bought mine anyway because of the aesthetics of it...and well a few weeks of use and it stopped working completely sometimes and would make a weird noise when it did work..loud enough to ruin even the best recording sessions. Definitely won't buy akai again for a long time. Very disappointed. I bought a focus rite preamp and it's been insanely impressive with the sound quality.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Quiet Pre's

EIE is the way to go
I have 2 eie's and 1 EIE Pro. I use them for various purposes with and without the computer. They have a great preamp in them and if the phantom voltage is required for you mic, it's there.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht
