Nice replacement for missing part
Bought a used Marlin 336 that the previous owner had remove the factory sights and replace them with some cheap fiber optic. The front one fell off immediately, so it was replaced with a factory original, with included adding the sight hood to protect the front sight. Good quality and shipping was fast. Thanks

Flimsy compared to a real one.
The one I received was made of in-hardened sheet metal. When mounted on the sight ramp it stood crooked. It was easily bent to straighten it, but it is a flimsy copy. An original Marlin sight hood is made of spring steel. I have two old originals that are made much better.

Looks good but requires some work.
The sight hood is of good quality but required some modification before it would fit the 39a of 1951 vintage. It was necessary to grind off some of the tongue before it would fit in the sight groove. The fit is still so tight that I won't be removing it in the future. Also, the shape in different from that of the original hood but still is serviceable.

I recently bought a Marlin 336 in 30-30....the Indian gentleman that sold it to me said it fell off a mesa..while hunting deer...so it needed replacement...it arrived right on time.and it will be used very shortly after getting the rifle reblued to fix all the scratches in the finish...it will be beautiful when finished...Thank You very much....tastrost_ hunter Sincerely,Eric Laird

The sight covers look better in person than in the pictures. Very good bluing and tight fitment. The spring back quality is very good also.

Not a Direct Fit
It looks good on the rifle, but be warned. If you own a pre 64 Marlin 336C, like me, you will have a wee bit of work to do to get it to fit. One of the edges on the hood extends a little further inward to lock into the sight ramp in a slot. My rifle does not have that slot cut out. The hood is on there good and tight, but it's not exactly a perfect fit.
