high-accuracy clear highs noise-isolating
Want a pair of this for a long time, and finally pick up one as a great deal. Highs are clear, defined Used to have a pair of Etymotic HF3, which essentially the same as the HF5. I find the ER4 seems a bit more difficult to insert to ear compare to the hf3. Not sure why. Anyhow, this is a great pair of earphone for those look for clear, neutral, noise-isolating, but not excessive amount bass.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

High accuracy sound. Well insulated from ambient noise. Not super comfortable.
Sound wise, ER4S' tone quality is that of a very flat speaker (I am devoted a speaker DIY guy with calibrated mic for frequency response tuning) and is great for classical & acoustic music listening. Very accurate. No shinning highs, no booming bass. .... and to some people this may sound too dull-n-light for some pop-dance-rap music ... but for me, it is "accuracy". Transparency wise, it is very nearly 1st class, but not top-notch. Somehow it seems slightly foggy (or diffused, as in camera lenses) and not completely transparent. There are $$$$ speakers that are quite a bit more transparent than these earbuds. However to achieve "bass with substance and weight" you need to really stick the earbuds into your ear canals (makes a big difference in bass quality&quantity) and this can cause some discomfort upon long wear. My ear is pretty dry so aside from some discomfort, I've no problem with long wear (of 1~2 hours). But for people with wet ears (like my wife) I probably would not recommend this earbud.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht
