Downton Abbey Cookbook - Very Saucy!
This is a great book with interesting period recipes that will be totally delicious to use even today. It is helpful that my copy is in US Standard measurements vs. metric. The only thing that would make this book better would be if it had some pictures of the prepared recipes. Wonderful treasure!
I thought, before I bought it, that this would just be a collection of tea sandwiches and scone recipes. Instead, this is a serious source of real, classic British cooking. I gave it to my daughter-in-law for Christmas and she was so excited to find rare things like clotted cream and plum pudding, along with lemon curd and so many main dishes.
