3 months and all is well
I bought one of these a few months back and found it easy to set up. The picture quality is good and it has enough features to keep me happy without being too complicated. With regards to the on/off button, on my set you have to press it really hard to get it to come on, which has been mentioned in previous reviews, but my sister has just bought the same model and her on/off button is fine. Superior Player

Many features at a good price
This is an excellent DVD multi player but proving quite hard to find at the moment possibly because of its great specification and performance at a reasonable price. Plug it in and connect the HMDI lead and go. Get one whilst you can.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Cool little DVD player, Multi region
I love this little cute dvd player, also has a usb port, and multi region, so easy to use and the quality of the picture is fab, definitely a good buy the remote, has so much features on it, some I had to look up, not seen before. Cheap, good looking, better than expected, and has the potential to unlock more ;-)
Needed a cheap DVD player to connect to my LG LF652V Smart TV. Plugged it in to HDMI1(ARC) and it worked flawlessly. Picture and sound seemed good to me on a quick test. I've read other reviews that said the sound from the DP542H is pretty darn good but I haven't used it much yet to truly comment. Bonus discovery I wasn't expecting, the DVD remote worked straight away with my LG TV, providing basic on/off, vol/channel up/down functionality. For normal watching freeview TV and DVDs I could technical just use the one DVD remote, but in reality I still need the TV remote to access Settings and Smart functionality like Auto-Tuning, Software Updates, TV guide, MIracast, Youtube & other apps, etc. I rate this 4-stars. For the price it's definitely 5-stars but I try not to exaggerate ratings. I'm sure there are much better (more expensive) DVD players out there, but also, only time will tell how long it'll last. Also, I believe this model is Region locked. There is a procedure/hack to unlock the region but I haven't tried yet.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Does exactly what it says on the tin!
The DVD player was simple to connect to my TV and set up. The controls are responsive on the player itself and the remote. Picture and sound are very good quality and navigation on screen is easy. This product is exactly as described. I'm very pleased.

Very good, but some drawbacks.
I ticked 'yes' for every question above, but there are a few things which I think might have been improved on in the original design. For a start, using a USB, or compressed video file on disk, there are only certain options available, and not surely the commonest kind from some years back - MP4s, which will not play (one can it seems convert them). Also, the display of certain jpegs is quite slow, and some (at least on the item I purchased) only appear with a rather indistinct, pixillated image, whereas it had been perfectly easy to display them elsewhere (e.g. on a computer).
