  • I Love Canon FD/FL Lenses!

I have a Sony A7Sii that I use for making films and shooting photography. I'm getting ready for a trip to Tokyo and wanted to a 35mm street lens to capture my experiences as I explore. Canon FD/FL lenses give you a sharp image, shallow depth of field and an awesomely dreamy look. While I've only tested this lens, it seems to work great, the focus is smooth, the aperture wheel clicks nicely and the image is nice and sharp. I'm excited to start shooting!

  • Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 S.S.C is amazing

This Lens has special mechanism to adjust infinity precisely, very comfortable and easy. The aperture diaphragm can be assembled accurately without a mistake, each stop worked as expected. the shape of aperture hole is very closed to circle which makes bubble bokeh. Focusing barrel is connected by inner and outer barrels, the whole progress of re-grease is not easy. After everything was restored, I used a FD-NEX adapter to attach it to sony a7R, the performance is really stunning, it's a bit like my carl zeiss jena 50mm f1.8 zebra, but has better color rendering ability because of the S.S.C coating. I really like it.

  • Very Satisfied

Gives me the results I anticipated: very sharp image and great blurred background. Due to wide aperture, images and videos in very low light look like in a well lighted studio. Great lens.

  • Best adapted 50mm on the Sony A7RII

So I have a bunch of 50mm class lenses that I have tried on my Sony a7RII. This high megapixel camera brutaly exposes flaws in any adapted lens and in addition is intolerant of oblique ray angles that are common in wide angle lenses and even some standard focal lengths; giving smeared corners and far edges with otherwise great glass. It is my feeling that the older FD lenses work better with the Sony sensor than newer version of Canon and Nikon lenses. My particular copy of the Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 (which needed aperture and internal lens element cleaning) is the best all round manual focus standard lens have found; just edging out the nFD version. It has it's flaws of course and it shows it's age when compared to the Sony Zeiss 55mm 1.8. I also have the Nikkor 50mm 1.2, 1.4 and 1.8 lenses and as well as some older 55 and 58mm Nikkors but the Canon FD 50mm 1.4 breech lock has become my favorite.

  • Honesty, Neatness & Caring

The lens is as exact as in photos. AS MINT AS A NEW LENS, that is really a weird condition, really totally neat, sharp, clean, without scratches and really as said to be exc++++, total honesty. The FD lenses work its aperture blades when connected to the camera only, so I had to wait for my adaptor to come and it worked perfectly with my adaptor and aperture blades work smoothly. Images and videos look great, a real awesome vintage , cinematic PRIME LENS... REAL GOLD VALUE FOR MONEY, I saved almost more than 100$ just by buying this MINT lens.... Luv it and Can't thank you enough for your care towards this rare lens and your honesty in telling every detail about the lens and it is even way better than photos. So thanks again for that piece of art...

  • Excellent lens!!!

Just got my first roll of film developed using this lens and they turned out awesome. Very sharp, stunning captures. This lens was in perfect shape when I got it and it seems to be performing perfectly as well. This isn't my first purchase with this shop. Thank you so much for such quality products and services! I'll be back to shop with you.

  • Great Lens with an excellent value!

Used this lens with a newer Olympus OMD E-M10, which is a micro four thirds mount. I picked up a Fotasy adapter and mounted the lens on my camera. Wow very sharp beautiful bokeh balls. All around an amazing portrait lens. It has a great value too, with an F/1.4, you wont find anything in this price with any modern day lenses.

  • A Classic

This is a great lens. While it is a bit heavy on my Sony A7R, it is easy to use, fast to focus, and gives nice Canon-like bokeh. Since it's fast, focus peaking works well, so my focus is usually right-on. The FD mount is a bit annoying (I recommend the Fotga adapter), but this is a well-made, albeit a bit predictable lens under $100.

  • All in all a great vintage lens if you don't mind busy bokeh.

Great value fast lens, but the bokeh is busy and nervous more often than not. Still, sharpness is excellent, and ƒ/1.4 aperture is nice and bright. Contrast is great, too, due to the coatings. All in all a great vintage lens if you don't mind busy bokeh. You can get some smooth bokeh, but it's a challenge.

  • Built to last

The FL 135mm f/2.5 lens is a well made optical instrument. I had one that I bought new in 1972, then moved to FD lenses, then to Rebel digitals and I recently decided to get back in to film photography just for fun. I have two Canin FT camers and I am rebuilding my lens collection to match what I had in the 70's. I didn't realize how well these were made until I had the chance to compare them to modern lenses currently on the market. This lens is moderately fast for a 135mm and is heavy. It's all glass and steel and they just don't make them like this anymore. The FL lenses are great and the 135mm f/2.5 is a must have as far as I'm concerned.
