A tripod designed for small, light cameras, the Sachtler System Ace M GS Tripod can hold up to eight pounds in photography equipment. The Sachtler Tripod offers a lightweight alternative for small cameras and compact video cameras. The Sachtler System Ace M GS includes a counterbalance system that offers a detailed, five step process for counterbalancing ease. Additionally, the small camera counterbalance tripod includes three vertical and horizontal grades for adjustments to both panning and tilting. The Sachtler System Ace M GS includes a fluid head with quick release mechanism. Additionally, the small camera counterbalance tripod features a 104 mm sliding center post for high camera positions. The Sachtler Tripod includes such features as a maximum height of 68 inches and it folds down to 26.8 inches for transportation. The weight of the Sachtler Tripod is 10 pounds for easier travel. Sachtler Ace Tripod
This tripod is absolutely perfect for my rigged Black Magic Pocket Cinema camera. Fully accessorized, my camera weighs nearly 8lbs. This tripod handles it perfectly. The spreader is very thin plastic, but the head is very good.
I give it a 4 out of five stars because I think the legs and spreader is made of very light weight material and I believe that was the point. I also purchased the NEEWER 74" Pro Heavy Duty Tri-Pod for 1/3 the cost and the quality is equal or better in my opinion. I live in LA and have been in the Indie Film business for about 20 years for what it's worth.
