As one of the most famous of all American crime series and a cult classic, CRIME STORY (1986-88) was the brainchild of MIAMI VICE creator Michael Mann. Set in 1963, episodes followed Lieutenant Mike Torello (GET SHORTY) of Chicago's Police Major Crime Unit, during his ongoing pursuit of slick and elusive mobster Ray Luca (Anthony Denison). As Luca's power grew exponentially - boosting him from the gritty streets of Chicago to the casinos of Las Vegas - Torello's drive to catch him only became more obsessive. Guest stars included Ving Rhames, Lorraine Bracco, Kevin Spacey, Julia Roberts and Gary Sinise. Video quality is absolutely horrible. Frankly it is unwatchable.

a classic that stayed with me

EASY TO FOLLOW STORY LINE

Great Show
I loved this show when it was airing on TV, and I am happy to say it is as great as I remember. I just wished there was a season 3 since season 2 ended with a cliffhanger. Excellent
In my opinion, this was one of the best police shows on TV. It was well written and the actors were convincing. Instead of independent weekly plots, it utilized the same technique as Hill Street Blues where the central plot continued from week to week. The Best Crime Drama You've Never Seen !!!

A Series Worth Owning

blast from the past
